Chair Yoga (for desk-bounded executives, stiff bodies and the elderly)

In this practice, there will be Modifying postures for stiffer/ older bodies and desk-bounded executives with the use of chairs, providing support to allow the yoga student get into deeper postures and holding each posture for a longer period to obtain maximum benefits, and yet without feeling pain or fatigue. 

Chair yoga decreases inertia and stiffness in joints, and enhance health, energy, flexibility, independence and balance (physical and emotions). 

It may also prevent the shortening of and rounding of the spine and ward off osteoporosis.

Globally, more people are recognizing yoga for its holistic ability to slow downand reverse the aging process. A complete health system, yoga not only restores vitality to the body but also expands the mind and soul.

 About her yoga classes;

  • Her yoga classes include posture practices, breathing and meditation techniques, combined with the beauty of outdoor nature- fresh air environment to bring maximum benefits, particularly on breathing and relaxation to each and every of her students.
  • She teaches traditional yoga poses as well as yoga variations both on land and in water with emphasis on physiology benefits and precautions. Her yoga session may support by soothing/ meditation yoga music for deep relaxation.
     
  • She offers a hands-on, gentle and non-competitive approach to her teaching, while maintaining a positive, uplifting, encouraging and personal atmosphere. 
     
  • Classes are a combination of postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama) and deep relaxation (yoga nidra) to bring balance to the body, mind and spirit.
     
  • This balancing allows the development and maintenance of a flexible, revitalized and ailment-free body and mind.
     
  • Emphasis is placed on total mind & body, and breath awareness to expedite individual progress and achieve results for each person's goal.

Preparing oneself before attending yoga classes;

If you have any serious medical conditions or injuries, please consult your doctor on the suitability of yoga classes before you begin and inform the yoga teacher.  
 
In the case of females, it is desirable to suspend yoga class during menstruation and the advance stage of pregnancy
 
Asanas are best practiced on an empty stomach hence avoid heavy meals 3-4 hours ahead of class. You may have a light snack/ meal 1-2 hours ahead if you are hungry.
 
Please come 10mins earlier before class for time to calm down body, mind and place yourself in a peaceful, relaxed frame of mind.
 
Loose comfortable and stretchable clothing is advisable for yoga practices.
 
Please bring your own towels and yoga mats for hygiene purposes.
 
Avoid wearing glasses if possible.
